Brain Snap Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 October 2026
Brain Snap ("the app", "we") is a set of fun daily brain games. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
The short version
- You can play every game without an account. When you do, nothing leaves your device.
- Online features (leaderboards, friends, player profile) are optional. They only start if you choose to sign in.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads may use your device's advertising ID. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. Brain Snap Pro (a one-time purchase) removes ads completely.
- We don't use any analytics SDK, and we don't sell your data.
- You can delete your online account and data at any time inside the app.
Information stored only on your device
Your game scores, streaks, statistics, difficulty choices and settings (theme, sound, haptics and the optional daily reminder) are stored locally on your phone. The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device; no push service or server is involved. They may be included in your device's standard Android backup, which is controlled by you and Google.
Information collected if you use online features
If you sign in (with Google or as a guest), we store the following in Google Firebase:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| A random account ID (Firebase user ID) | To identify your account |
| Your email address (Google sign-in only) | Used by Firebase Authentication to sign you in. It is never shown to other players or stored in your public profile. |
| Username, chosen avatar, optional country flag | Shown to other players on leaderboards and friend lists |
| Optional profile photo (only if you add one) | Shown instead of your avatar to other players. The app crops it to a small square and compresses it on your phone before upload. You can remove it at any time in Profile → Edit profile. |
| Game results (daily scores per skill, Daily Workout total, Target Number solve time), XP, level and streak | To show leaderboards, your profile and friends' scores |
| Friend connections, friend requests and players you've blocked | To provide the friends feature |
| Friend challenges (game, puzzle seed, the two players' names/avatars and scores, status and time) | To run a challenge between two friends. Only the two players can see it; it expires after 48 hours. |
| Reports you submit about other players (including reporting a photo) | To moderate offensive usernames, photos or cheating |
| Feedback and game ideas you choose to send in the app (type, your message, app version, and an email address only if you type one) | To read and reply to your suggestions. Only the app's administrators can read it. You can instead send it by email. |
Who can see it: Other signed-in players can see your username, avatar or profile photo, country flag, level/XP, streak and scores. Only you can see your block list. Only the people involved can see a friend request. Only the two players can see a challenge. Nobody but the app's administrators can see reports or feedback.
Firebase (online features)
Service providers: Online-feature data is processed and stored by Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on our behalf. Ads are provided by Google AdMob and purchases by Google Play (see below). Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Security: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access is restricted by server-side security rules so that only you can change your own data.
Ads (free version)
The free version uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show a banner on menu screens (not during games), an occasional full-screen ad between games, and optional "watch an ad" rewards. Google may collect and process: - device identifiers such as the advertising ID or app set ID - your IP address and approximate location derived from it - information about ad interactions, device and app information, and crash/diagnostic data
Google uses this to deliver, measure and protect ads and, where you allow it, to personalise them. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent: Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and under some US state privacy laws), the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for your consent before ads load. You can change your choice at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data → Ad privacy options. If you don't consent to personalised ads, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
Ads are not targeted at children. The app tells Google that its users are not under the age of consent and that it is not child-directed, and it limits ad content to a teen (T) rating.
If you buy Brain Snap Pro, the ads SDK is not started and no ad requests are made.
In-app purchases
Brain Snap Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment. We never see your card or payment details. The app only receives a purchase record from Google Play (that Pro was bought, plus a purchase token) to unlock Pro. It stores a "Pro unlocked" flag on your device so Pro works offline. Your Pro status isn't stored in our online database. Google Play's privacy policy applies to payments: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Delete in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, username, friend code, profile photo, scores, friend connections, friend requests, challenges and block list, and then your sign-in account. Reports and feedback you submitted are kept as described below. Offline stats on your device are not affected. To remove those too, clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
- Sign out at any time. Your online profile then stays as it is until you delete it.
- Reports you submitted about other players are not deleted by in-app deletion. They are kept for moderation and player safety, without any link to you: they only carry your old account ID, which no longer exists after deletion. You can ask us to remove them by email (see Contact), and we will do so within 30 days.
- Feedback you sent in the app is kept so we can act on it. Email us to have it deleted.
- To ask for deletion without the app, email us (see Contact) with your username. Full steps: brain-snap-095d1c.web.app/delete-account
Children
Brain Snap's online features are intended for users aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows the latest version. Significant changes will be noted in the app's store listing.
